Christchurch Centres

Fundamentals Preschool, Ferry Road
Busy Bees Preschool, Cardiff Ave

Both of these centres are happy for the children to wear cloth and comments from the supervisors would indicate it is preferred!!!

Kate from Fundamentals Preschool in Ferry Rd is expecting twins at the end of the year and will be using Modern Cloth on her babies (Thanks to TNN :D )

She was really impressed with the range of modern cloth available so is now promoting it to all the parents of children at her preschool.

Hoon Hay private kindergarten are willing to let me put George in Pockets. They initially said no to cloth, but I explained about modern cloth and they agreed to give it a try! I think they were thinking flats with pins and icky covers.

The Lighthouse Preschool in Halswell have been great about using MCN's on my daughter. I had a long discussion with staff the other day, and they probably think I have gone nuts :) This nappy thing is addictive

Rolleston Early Learning Centre, is fantastic. When Maia started they had a NO cloth policy which was because of the wording in their licence, the owner found a loop whole in the licence and has been fantastic, along with the staff in supporting us with cloth

so :smt041 Rolleston Early learning centre :smt041

My Playcentre hasn't stated a preference, the only thing they said about nappies is 'Disposable nappies must be taken home', to which I replied 'Oh, we use cloth, so we'll definitely be taking them home' :P

Of course staff don't actually change nappies (it's a parent responsibility because children aren't left there without parents until they are toilet trained), so it's a bit different anyway.

It's great to hear about all the other centres supporting cloth.

Both my children go to Northwood Preschool (Belfast). This week DD started wearing MCN there full time. The cloth naps have been welcomed, and the staff are enjoying using them :D I even get comments that they are checking which ones I have sent along and choosing which cute one to put on each time!
It is centre policy that 'cloth naps be used with liners'- I'm sure this was written referring to cotton flats. Anyway, we send along pockets or AIO with the flushable liners. Any liners that are just wet, come home again to be washed and reused.

Nice comments about how the nappy change area smells so nice now - due to the drops of tea tree oil in the wet bag!.

All up a very positive response, and interest from other parents and staff (pregnant ones) too.

Lincoln Uni Childcare Centre is cool with MCN's - the lovely ladies there had never seen them before and think they're the coolest thing since sliced bread!

We've changed to ABC at Kaiapoi now. Wow, I love it there, it's brand new! They're happy to use cloth, I would have been really disappointed if I couldn't use my nappies. They asked me to send along an air-tight plastic container to put them in, which is a good idea and yesterday I popped a wipe in there with some essential oils on it so it smelt lovely!

Roydvale Nursery and Preschool are happy to take kiddies wearing cloth (although I will have to ask them to change DS earlier in the morning, I keep discovering a sopping wet nappy in the wetbag).
I understand the Bishopdale YMCA childcare also accepts cloth nappies too.
