GRO BABY

Post by Tweedle » Thu Mar 11, 2010 3:20 pm

I am on day 3 of using these full time - so far I LOVE them :D

The fit is great on Lauren (5mths, 8.3kg - rise snaps on the middle setting), snug around her legs & waist. I love how I can change the soaker pads each change and re-use the outer - makes it quite an affordable system as I only go through 3-4 outers a day :D I must admit I was skeptical about just changing the soaker as I thought it will get smelly but it doesn't - the inside of the shell is mesh so the air flow is great :D

I am using a booster on top of the soaker at the moment and this lasts approx 3 hours - the soakers etc have only been through the wash once since new so absorbency will increase with more washes.

We have just got in the bio soakers too which look great - I plan to try these out when we go on a wee family holiday next month so will let you know how they go. These can be put into your home compost system which is a great alternative :D More details on those can be seen on our website.

I highly recommend trying these if you haven't already!

There are some pics of Lauren on the AIO gallery :D

 Would love to try one, but big bottom just doesn't fit OSFA and I have a wee way to go before little bottom arrives :D

Are they ever on sale?

I have one and 3 soakers and i must say, it is one of the best fits i have (and i have a lot of nappies trust me!)
Though i cant reuse the outer once he has done a poo as breastfed poo goes literally everywhere LOL

the price is a bit steep but i guess they are worth it :) If they do ever go on sale ill definitely be buying more..

Loving this nappy on our 1 year old daughter. I don't understand why but the soaker is super absorbant, the outer cover is silky and flexi, and the fit is just perfect on her, it's now tying for favourite nappy along with our itti AIO's. i take it off the line to use it again it never seems to even make it to the folding pile. I've got another on the way now :-)

I've got one shell and 3 soakers and have been using them the last couple of days. First try i wasn't too impressed. The aplix is REAL strong so i really had to yank to unstick it  and the soakers are sewn on both ends and it seems that between the sewn bits it was still damp. One of my soaker sets is only sewn a wee bit and that ones fine but the other two sets are sewn further along :? and they are still damp after being in the dryer for an hour

We are on day 3 now and the GroVia is gaining popularity as the soakers are becoming more absorbent 8-) Such cute prints and really it's a fab cheap nappy system for older babies that don't do liquid poos  One shell set per day and about 6-7 soaker sets would be plenty :D

FAB :thumb:

can't wait to try out the compostable inserts :vibes:

3 months later and this is my favourite nappy \:D/ after they were used a few times the inserts dried a lot quicker so they dry on the line in a day now no worries. Still haven't tried the compostable inserts tho hmm... :whip:

hmm so what stops them from bunching up between their legs and then the baby would pee off the side of the bunched up insert?

might give my g-diaper ones a try anyway

The Charlie banana nappies have a flap that you tuck the insert under so if you used those in the Gro Baby they would just sit inside. The Gro Baby disposable inserts have tape on the back.
