Bummis (Real) Whisper Pants

Post by Dunners » Thu Dec 23, 2004 6:26 pm

Available from http://www.snazzipants.co.nz/ or http://www.realnappies.co.nz/

My initial thought was "eww - so boring and plasticy". However, I've now changed my mind.

These are great value at $10 each - they are generously sized, yet slim fitting, and they have never leaked poo or wee (if the nappy lets me down, the cover won't). I'll often prefer to use these over my fitteds if I don't want the bulk that a wrap (secured with loop and hook) brings.

And, the "plastic" is a lovely soft breathable PUL. They really are a great cover.

These pants probably contribute the most to my lean towards favouring fitted nappies - they are so leak proof I can be confident day or night that I won't have to change Emily's clothes/bedding.

Sounds like a Rexona ad "they won't let you down!".

These are the best cover I have ever found for never failing to contain absolutely anything (and everything  ). They are also an absolute bargain at $10! They look boring, so I like more spunky looking covers in summer when he's just in nappies, but under clothes they are the slimmest thing I've ever tried, no big nappy bum at all. And they don't leak, day or night, over anything.

What do you girls use underneath them as far as cloth goes? I currently use traditional flats folded into the origami since my boy poos so often I think a pad would not contain anything. Anyhow, would these pants be ok over that or would you suggest just sticking with my BSWW which work perfect at the moment? I am looking at getting a few more wraps which is why I'm asking. How are they for size compared to the BSWW (if either of you have these that is :) )

Emily has size S Whisper pants which are about the same size as her size M Super Whisper Wraps. (5 months, 7kg)

I use all of my fitted/semifold/homemade contour naps under the Whisper Pants (Zappy Nappies, Nap Naps, Snazzi fitted, Snappi Nappies, Tots bots, Funky Bumz semifold and homemade contour). The closest I have to a folded traditional flat is a Funky Bumz semifold - and the Pants work well over the top, so I don't see a problem with being over your origami folded flats.

I highly recommend the Pants - they aren't as bulky as the wraps (which I also like under her slim fitting clothing like jeans). I only have one, but think that I shall buy more of the next size up as I will certainly miss not having it!

Agree with everything above. these are great - cheap, reliable, dry super fast, breathable, fit over anything etc etc. They look awful - but I generally use them under clothes to give a trimmer fit. We used to use these at night when we had no wool covers clean/dry, they worked great.

I dont use flat cloths but they would be fine if your pinning is secure enough that it doesn't need the support of a close fitting wrap to keep it up! The modern equivalent of the old skool plastic pants that our mums all used to use over pinned cloths. Like Leanne, I also use them over a million different types of fitted naps. He is now in size L (a very chubby 11kg, size 2 in clothes) which is nice & roomy over a day nappy. Because the size of his night nappies make the whisper pants quite fitted rather than roomy, I often put the doubler (I use a prefold folded into a pad as a night doubler) outside the nappy so just sitting in the whisper pant, and it holds it there ok. Definately worth a try - I started off with a few different wraps (no bummis ones though) and no longer use them at all since discovering these.

The Bummis Whisper Pants are the only cover I use.
They are great over anything!
Nikki (I think it's you asking about flats), I've used a pinned flat with the whisper pants before, no worries!
Definately recommend them!

I need say no more! I definitely think every cloth user should have at least one of these in their stash.

Totally agree with all of the above!

These pants are my main overpants for Eli. Thay work great and fit over any nappy I have a lot easier than the same size SWW's.
A couple of mine are a bit stained though and the sun doesn't seem to whiten them up fully. They are not for showing off that's for sure. :)

Definitely recommend these all in all.

LOVE these covers! Cannot rave enough about them. We've had a great fit range with the cross over velcro tab.

I love our BSWPs!

I love these pants : 5/5

Great over just about every thing... easy to wash... quick-drying... not plastic-y... small enough to squash in the corner of a nappy bag... trim-fitting...

These are not the prettiest cover, but they are soooo reliable. They fit beautifully over a Snazzi Fitted nappy. Even with a soaking wet nappy - no leaks! And at $10 you can't go wrong for a soft trim cover. Well worth the purchase :D :smt023

Love them, love them!! I have about 6 medium ones, 1 small one (not using any more) and 1 large one (not used yet).
Mine have turned a greyish pink for some reason..
I use them at night, over Snazzipants fitted nappies. They fit fine over size 1 fitted and even size 2!
Might try your idea of putting the doubler on the outside of the nappy Sarah, as 2 snazzi doubler in a size 1 fitted is a bit of a tight fit on Éloïse...
