Mama Pads packs from Greenbeans

Post by Darny » Thu Jul 21, 2005 2:19 pm

I got a pack a few weeks ago from Sarah, sewed them up, and have finally got to trial them, WOW!
I'm totally sold, they are SO comfortable, and so thin and light and absorbant!
All the big bulky hemp pads I have been using are no match for these (and won't be used by me again!)

I'll be making some more for sure!

Good pattern too, nice and long!

Thanks Sarah!

Do you think these would be suitable post-partum? Also, can you tell us how they are made? Are all the layers sewn together? And could they be cut down smaller if you didn't need such long pads?
Thank you:-)

I think if you altered the pattern to make it longer and added in one more layer of microfibre they would be perfect for post partum.

I got greedy and skimped on the amount of microfibre I put in the pads I made, and got some regular ones, and a couple of extra long overnight ones, and I have to say they are simply brilliant, they last easily as well as the throwaway variety, and wash clean much easier than the hemp pads I have. I normally use post partum/ overnight type throwaway pads, so I'm not a 'light' user.

They are meant to be 1 layer PUL, one layer hemp, two layers microfibre (in strips where they are needed- not down the wings) and one layer microfleece in that order.
