Post by missgateau » Sun Oct 04, 2009 10:05 am

Hi guys,

Here's a wee list of the upcoming days when the NP Creative Fibre group meet. They are more than happy for us to go along (and to take children  8-) :D ). Have a look at the creative fibre website for more info about who they are.

They have an annual sub, but Janet said not to worry about it until next year when it's next due.

Weeeeeeellll, actually they do!! We've warned them that there might be quite a few new recruits and they were more than happy. Infact Janet was quite excited. 8-)

Reminder:

Tomorrow, 10am till late. Address above.
It's a work day, so they just cruise in and out and do their own thing. Take your own lunch/dinner. Some of them get chinese etc for dinner. There will be people felting, spinning, knitting etc.

See ya there!! :D :D

Hi all,

Info on the next Saturday fibre day.....

(From Janet):
We have settled on Saturday 24th October for the dyeing day - if wet or very windy it will be put off to the 31st October. At the rooms, 83 Hine Street.
The aim is to dye the silk sliver and silk caps and some silk tissue that the group has purchased but feel free to bring your own silk if you wish to dye that. We will stick to silk for that day as there wont be time to cover other fibres. Bring rubber gloves, wear old clothes. Anyone that has dyeing pots, cookers or other dyeing equipment please bring those. Also any big plastic sheets to cover the tables.
Silk, dyes, vinegar and oven bags all supplied.
We will use dyes from the educ Fund plus a few of my dyes. The cost of dyes, vinegar etc will be noted and paid by the group. Then the cost of the silk and the dyes will be worked out so that you can purchase any quantity you wish.
The cost of the undyed silk we have purchased works out at:
Mulberry silk sliver 15gms $2 50 grams $5.50 100 grams $11
Silk cap $2.50
Scarf lengths $5

:-) Kate
