i was going to order 2m of 400gsm gb bamboo tonight to make double layer trifolds for sio nappies.

however a friend online just said she thinks the 400gsm seems quite thin compared to her bought inserts .... will it be absorbant/good enough? or is it ment to be thin? iv never used bamboo fleece before. is it comparable to hemp fleece in thickness?

im nervous now - should I buy the fabric or buy inserts? inserts are expensive and also lots of them have mfibre on them and I want some that are just super super thirsty

please help asap cos I want to order tonight so I can get my supplies asap -- baby is due anyday now as I might go early! lol

I've used the 400g stuff as trifolds and it works well.

By the time you use two layers and fold them, they are thicker than an insert. Once you wash them the weave is thicker due to the shrinkage. I can't compare to bought inserts as I never purchased any.

IMO the bamboo is a similar thickness to the hemp fleece. :D

yep. brought shaped inserts that you dont fold (so not tri folds) are a few layers - so making trifolds out of th GB stuff should make it more absorbent. not that ive used that particular stuff.

I've only bought the 340gsm bamboo terry from GB, and a double layered trifold was very similar to an itti bitti trifold. I was happy with the absorption.
