Post by inkypinkyponky » Fri Jan 13, 2012 9:46 am

I've just bought this pattern...

Has anyone made this nappy? If so, any tips or tricks?

I finished one and it's been tested  Pics are here - http://lemonhoneylove.blogspot.co.nz/
Didn't follow the instructions properly though so the front pocket is too far down, meaning the inserts are too long and poke out the top. Works a treat though and yay for the inserts agitating out in the wash!

This is a cool looking nappy. Looks very leak resistant. But perhaps a little more complicated to sew than a standard pocket?
How did you find it?
Personally my favourite nappies are the Thirsties brand. This pattern seems to have the key features of that, gussets and rise snaps, also the velcro fastening.

Thanks for sharing it. :D

It is a bit more complicated, certainly wouldn't reach for it if I was looking for a quick sew nappy. It involves about 10 steps whereas a simple pocket nappy might be 5 steps. You could take convenient elements of it (like the gussets or the welt pockets) and make it into a much simpler nappy. I figure if it's going to be worn hundreds of times it's worth the effort :D But ask me again when I'm making the next size up and I'll probably be sick of it by then!
