Waldorf style dolls and fairy supplies in NZ

Waldorf style dolls and fairy supplies in NZ

Postby onabear » Tue Aug 21, 2012 4:21 pm

I want to make some wooden peg people but not from the old school pegs just the ones that have the head and the straight or pear shaped body to make some waldorf style gnomes and fairies. Does anyone have a link to a site in NZ preferably?
Also where is the best place to get felting wool to make the waldorf style fairies, I assume I can dye the carded wool as I would spun wool so would really just be looking for some white/natural.

TIA

I don't think anyone in NZ sells them, but I've bought some from Winterwood Toys in Oz before :)

Dyeing fleece is a little bit trickier than yarn, because it felts very easily, but it is totally doable, you just have to e really gentle & avoid touching it while even slightly warm or wet. Pretty much any place that sells spinning stuff will have it, if you google tally-ho carding their prices are good (though they specialise in kilo bumps) or if you want to go for small quantities of a variety of colours forest folk sells it in 20g+ quantities :)
