Fairy Garden-along anyone?

Post by MumAmber » Fri Feb 01, 2013 7:40 pm

I have been thinking about this for about a year and have decided I'm going to start this weekend. We have a pot that had spring flowers that have died back now so will use that. Anyone else interested? Before and after photos compulsory!

For ideas google image search "fairy garden"

There was a blog that had a competition, magic onions but for some reason it wont load for me.

I, erm, have bought a fairy of the strong sturdy outdoor plastic variety, but other than that plan to use what I can gather/replant/find in the garden, and may even try some twig furniture if there is any glue left in the glue gun. :D

Looks really cute!

Just not sure it would work so well this year with a toddler who likes to rip everything apart! :s

We have the same problem meow - I figure the pot will be moved to higher ground once DS wakes up!!! I thought it would make a nice project for DH, DD and I to do together once DS is sleeping.....

We're definitely in! Soph made a super-cute fairy house a year or so back that she was so proud of. I have a photo somewhere...

Ok, here is the finished product!!!
DD loved it and played for ages. Then 2 days later we had a massive storm that destroyed the furniture (not that I think glue guns are designed for outdoor furniture) and some of the plants didnt survive. I plan to give it another week and see what has taken, and do a bit of redesigning and try again with some plants. We used moss, violets, hebes and succulents mainly. The succulents look to have been most successful, although DS keeps pulling the hebes out so that prob isnt helping.
