From looks of pattern instructions, she has added a couple more info bits about putting together some of the pieces. i dont have an old copy printed to make it easy to compare.

the pattern I have printed and stuck together, she has a different layout with sticking together. The inch test square is great, I know my pattern is to scale. Pretty sure my old pattern was ok, I know a few got stuck with printing issues. In comparison to old pattern the new hood piece is slightly bigger, not sure why it would change though. The sleeves are about 10-12mm wider and obviously shaped bigger around arm hole. They are a little bit longer too. So in changing the sleeves the front and back armholes have been made slightly bigger to accommodate the sleeves. The trim piece has been drawn different too, for the better.

To me the pattern is still going to be on the slim fit side, there should be more room around the armhole, but I think sleeves will be narrow, should be a lot better the version 1. I think it would be worth trying to get hold of this update, only making one will confirm this though. Need to go try it out :whip:

That's one of the things that I love about Ravelry, that designers can send pattern updates so easily.

Thought I'd add a couple comments re sizing. I've made DS (3yr) a hoodie today from the new pattern. I made a size 5 - DS wears size 3 or small size 4, also took into account I want extra room so I can layer it up, and I also used quite a thick merino for the lining. It fits ok, not overly big, think I could have got away with a 4. It's a bit short, and close fitting on my 5yr old.

I need to redo the sleeves as they are too long (I just added the cuff to the end of sleeve)

Eta - just realised I haven't done the button

Does anyone know what the new sizing of the Heidi and Finn hoodie means/is about?
I have the older version of the pattern and need to make a size 5...

Thanks in advance :)
If you were thinking of making it for a 5 year old I'd recommend going to the size 6. So either buy the new pattern or upsize the smaller one a bit. I'd leave cutting the bottom band until you have put it together, so you can add length to the band if its looking on the short side.

Hope this helps.

I always upsized and doubled (sometimes tripled) the bottom band as I like things a bit longer on my kids

Must see if I can find my original order number, doubtful though!

Should of also said that the sleeves are a lot better too, still narrow but at least you can layer clothes underneath now.
