Colour run on quilt

Post by jennyo » Thu May 22, 2014 8:50 pm

I finished a quilt this week, washed it andvput it on the bed. Decided it needed an iron and was an idiot and used steam. Now some of the dark blue has tinged my free motion quilting on the parts I ironed (about a 1/4 of it).Should I just try dylon colour catchers? Or any other hints? The batting is wool. What do u think my chances are of removing it?
Ugh this will teach me to be impatient and fussy! Esp since I'm sick and shouldnt have been doing it 7n the first place!

Try a dylon colour run colour sachet. Make sure it's the liquid which is for colours as opposed to the powder which is just for whites. Colour catchers are for preventing not fixing.

Thanks heaps. Where do I get it from? I went to Fresh Choice and saw the sachet for whites but not the liquid for colours. I didn't see it on the countdown website either. I'm guessing Spotlight might be best. Anywhere else?

Spotlight should have it, or New World, but I've always managed to find it at Countdown too. Some chemists stock that range too.

Ok ta.

So the colour catcher - do you just use it the first time you wash something?
