The big Quiet Book project!!!

Post by Claire » Tue Aug 31, 2010 9:46 am

Who wants to join in? This is set to become my latest obession.... I've even been dreaming about it :smt044 :twitch:

It all started when Erica-Jane (the one to blame) shared this: ... ature.html

I've been meaning to do one since DS1 was little... and now is the hour! I figure its the PERFECT christmas present for my book obsessed 2 year old.

I've already bored my family talking about it... spent farrrrr to much time looking at inspirational blogs... and spent farrr to much money on 'supplies'
I'm generally obsessed with this project!!

anyone wanna join in? I need more people to talk about this with :rotfl:

here's some more links for inspiration.. ... iet%20book ... -book.html ... -book.html

edited .. cause it's a quiet book not a quite book :smt005 ... man I am SO blonde sometimes 8-[

Wow!! I've been wanting to make one of these for ages too, but always too many things to do.

I reckon I'd have to make at least 2 though - DS is sure to want one if DD gets one, even if he's a bit on the older side for it. Although some things (eg shoe lacing) are more up his alley.

DS - Apr 2007
DD - Nov 2009

Our church has quite a stack of these and I always wonder who made them and think of the hours it must have taken - they're very detailed.

I bought one from a little craft shop a few years ago for about $30.
It was worth so much more, all the time and effort put it.

I thought about making one, then found the one I have and was relieved I didn't have to make one anymore

I am thinking about them constantly too  .
I want to know the nuts and bolts stuff before I start though - what are people using for their pages? Cotton, felt? Are you using interfacing to stiffen them a bit, or cotton batting? How will you put it together at the end?
