Can I just warn you that the newborn Button Boos I had were mega tiny. They didn't last my tiny newborn past 4 kg if that (so only around 3 weeks). If you're making them I'd recommend extending the wing tabs.

Shar's newborn pattern fitted a lot longer and also worked very well on a tiny baby. You can convert them to another style of nappy if you prefer.

Robyn thanks for letting me know

Not sure what to do then cause the the small on tight are saggy she is 5kg now oh dear have cut out a stack as I just assumed the next size down will be fine, oh well just about to snap the fronts so will just do one and sew up. The mediums have lasted my boy from 6 months old and still going at 2 and he is 11kg.

Yeah, I got the impression there was quite a big jump between sizes as the larger button boos I've received have been huge. If they're cut out could you perhaps make up some little expanders to add to the tabs if they don't fit?

Try it once you've made one. There is a chance that mine was too small simply because it was made as an AIO and had extra bulk. But it was sewn by a very experienced sewer so I'm guessing she had her seam allowances right.

Well it fits on the middle snap will see how it copes with a wee etc before sewing more - my machine had a cow sewing the elastic today will give it a clean an oil I think.

I'm almost at the end of my nb nappy sewing mission  Just a couple of soakers to overlock and sew into the nappies and they're done \:D/

Then I'll start on small button boos, thinking about getting an adjustable pattern too but can't decide between wee weka ka-pai, dittos tiny tuck-in or ditto's adjustable leg one. So I'll decide on that once the smalls are done lol

Apart from nappies I have merino here that needs to be sewn into tops for DS, for a swap and for the newbie
