Has anyone tried cutting magnet paper? I want to make missy some dolls for her birthday. I know there is silhouette branded stuff but wondering if anyone had tried:

also.. found a good tip a saw on a forum... "Aleene's tack it over and over" is a glue that makes the cutting mats like new again. It's awesome. I got mine at Hands but I presume lots of craft shops sell it.

Don't have a machine but I'm pretty sure I have sheets of magnet stuff here, I can send you a sheet to try if you like?

Ooo, will have to try and track down that glue. My cutting mats are far from new condition.

Has anyone had trouble after changing the cutting blade?? Mine went all loose and wobbly, and wouldn't cut anything. I ended up putting the older blade back in. Could I have got a dud blade? Or does anyone have some tricks for changing blades? (although I think I was doing it right as it worked once I put the other one back).

oh yeah I had heard those new multi blades weren't as good? I'm still using the old type with the different coloured caps.

cheers! I'm pretty sure it should be fine so use the generic.. I doubt there is much difference to the branded stuff so I think I'll just go ahead and buy

Have cut chalkboard vinyl for my pantry labels and it works great - i reckon magnet paper would due fine. Oh and i cut chalk cloth which doesn't work as well

I did get some chalk board vinyl but haven't had a chance to use it yet! I find the normal sticky vinyl quite tricky to use... did A's lunch box recently though and it turned out ok.
Anyone got any good hints and tips for sticky vinyl?

I found out another thing (which I probably should have known from the t&cs!) ... I had a sub for the silhouette online store thingy and had heaps and heaps of money left on it.. and I'm not re subbing so I have to spend all the money before it runs out or they just wipe it. Bit rude I recon! I was a bit dumb getting a sub really
Such a pain that you can't sell anything made from their images eh! I've ended up buying quite a few royalty free images to trace. What do you other guys that sell stuff do for images? Non copyright images can be quite spendie

I didn't actually know that - where do they state that???? i have been making alot of my own images lately. It's actually not as hard as you'd think to draw something up. Did an apple and a stalk, a race car, ummm what next eh...

Yeah.. it's not that hard to draw simple images.. Now I'm getting better with the software it's getting heaps easier.. even managed a half decent ballerina LOL! I'm not arty enough to do complicated images though

you you have adobe illustrator? or corel? you can design in there and save as a compatible file, then import to the shilouette software

LOL.. it's the designing I can't do It's easy enough to design straight in the silhouette software but you need to be able to be arty enough design it LOL.

I found if you put it on to that clear cover stuff that you use for covering books you can then remove the backing and it stays in place for when you place it on your item - you just peel the clear stuff off once placed.
