HELP! fashion show clothes for kids - ideas needed

Postby JandC » Tue Jun 26, 2012 9:53 pm

Kindy has asked me to sew several pieces of 'fashion clothing'.

They have just bought a runway/fashion show tent thing that the kids walk out of and display their clothing. I bought some feather boa's but no idea what constitutes as fashion clothing. I'm thinking glittery/sequin type stuff??

Help! Pics would be good too if anyone finds any :)

They just want simple things that the kids can put on/off by themselves quickly.

Waistcoats would be good for boys, and you could do those shorter sparkly sorta waistcoats that tie in the front for the girls. Long skirts with velcro to do up, or just elastic? Some $2 shop hats would be cool too (they have big fancy sunhat type ones, as well as cool boys ones).

A huge hit with the kids at DD's kindy (girls and boys) is some singlet type long tops that one Mum made, she made them really A-line and put a small hulla hoop into the hem so they stick out kind of like a tent. She made them out of all kinds of material, some sparkly, some bright, some plain. The kids LOVE them, they come to upper thigh on DD (nearly 5) and I guess to almost knee on the little kids (3).
