I need a 'mindless' crochet project - that is usefull!

Post by Resse » Tue May 07, 2013 1:13 pm

I need something to do while I wait during soccer practise!
Am trawling through rav, but finding it hard to find something that is easy, and reasonable mindless.

Any ideas?

How about some granny squares to make a nice blanket.

Are you sitting in a warm & dry car, or watching on the sideline? Just considering how "small" and portable the project would have to be.

I'm going through a blanket phase though I'm at the "huge & not portable" stage on my WIP. I've made a few cotton market bags & they were easy & portable.

Sitting on the sideline :D
I really like the idea of granny squares for a blanket!
I have never made one, and sounds difficult!

I take it you just make lots of squares, and then join them together at the end?
How do you join them?

The blanket I've almost finished is a granny square one. I joined the squares using this method: http://pinterest.com/pin/88805423874342773/ and I'm pleased with how it looks (though if I did it again I'd go up a hook size as it's a bit tighter than I would have ideally done). I'm still working on the border (have yarn left to use up).
