Knitting milo with 4 ply

Post by NPMum » Tue Jun 10, 2014 3:38 pm

Mum has just knitted her first Milo vest.
She has found some wool that she loves but it is only 4 ply and she would really like to use it. She is quite a good knitter but usually just follows a pattern.
Has anyone knitted a milo with 4 ply. Did you adjust the pattern or knit with 2 strands.
I am not a knitter so have no idea but told her I would see if one of the talented ladies on here could advise her.

I really love knitting 4ply 'Adams' which lend itself easier to using 4 ply I think (have made lots of singlets for undergarments)

But yes you cold double strand, but that usually ends up as more worsted/10ply weight so it might come out a little large, so just factor that in ;)

4 ply double stranded is worsted weight usually. Can she save that yarn for something else and find a nice 8ply for the Milos?
