I agree, I've asked for it to be sticky earlier, such a great resource... I've made another pair recently that have photos in my homemade gallery and am just finishing off the legs on my latest pair

Can anyone tell me approximately what size the newborn size would fit up to?

I would upsize to the small unless it's for a tiny baby.

I did my own version of newborn before there were actual instructions but I agree with Khai, small would be fine for most newborns, their nappies are still disproportionally big and you can always do tighter tummy elastic/cord to help them stay up

I did a nb size and added ribbed cuffs that can be folded up/down as needed. Unfortunately the nb they are for is in hospital with heart problems, I hope he manages to get home in time to still fit them!

i keep seeing everyone raving about this pattern, tho from the pics they look straight down from the waist ie no shape or anything, is that how they are meant to look? (thats whats put me off trying) but i guess i should give them a go just to see what the fuss is about

Thanks Rachel :) I think she is a touch similar but will be different to her big sister. Faint ginger in her blonde locks!

I think why people like the pattern is cos it is easy and a quick knit. It is straight down kinda boot leg style compared to Tiny Birds etc. These were alos my first & only circular longies pattern I have tried. Give it a go! I am sure you will knit up a lovely pair.
