Gabes Hat Pattern.......Finished Hats and WIP

Post by Gaia » Fri Mar 14, 2008 11:14 pm

Just thought I'd start a new thread for us all to show off our knitted hats.

I love this pattern

Quick and easy to knit up.

Thanks Gabes :)

And a work in progress for a wee boy

Would love to see pics of other hats made to this pattern :)

Love the flowers Heather!

Here are the ones I've made in the last few weeks:

A child-sized one for Emily. I was running out of pink wool so introduced the red into the hat (I had originally planned to do a red trim). Just standard 8 ply yarns

A toddler-sized one for James using left-over Wool Company Seaweed (he has a jersey to match)

My first item for this baby (if it's a girl), baby-sized using creamy-white and baby pink scraps of angora blend

I love this pattern, thanks so much Gabes!

Here's mine - in Cleckheaton Vintage Hues which is 12 ply or something so I fiddled a bit with the sizing.

Not sure whether doing the edging in this yarn will look good (the current bit is red/yellow) so thinking about what to do...

Thanks so much for the pattern Gabes!

Aww that's awesome gabes. I'll post a pic of my second one tonight and I'm planning a third and fourth
Also thanks so much for your blog. I seamed this last one with mattress stitch, first time I've used it and it's awesome. No going back now :D

My latest one, this time seamed with mattress stitch and with a crochet edging instead of knitted :)

You want to make 3 stitches from that first one - so knit into it (creates stitch 1 on RH needle), don't remove CO stitch from the L needle, move yarn around to purl position, purl using that CO stitch on the L needle (that creates a 2nd stitch on the RH needle), then switch yarn back to knit position and once again knit using the CO stitch on the LH needle and you can pull it off this time (creating the 3rd stitch on the RH needle).

Or at least that's what I did
