Your favourite nb / baby patterns

Post by sumella » Sun Jul 22, 2012 9:21 pm

After several miscarriages and other complications my older sister is finally pregnant :D
Which gender-neutral knits do you recommend, and what are the most useful items for a winter baby (longies, cardi...).

Longies are awesome, we never used them so much as soakers/covers type thing but lovely for keeping little legs nice and toasty!
Cardis! Puerperium, paxton, young einstein are all awesome
Oh and Baby vertebrae, it looks weird but is really really handy for little babies, especially little babies like mine which dribble and spill constantly and spend most of the day curled up asleep on someone's chest (never in their own bed...) because it keeps their back warm without the bulk or buttons digging into their front

yeah I second the Vertabrae - loved it for when he was little - I did a merino one that in the first 6 hours while he was skin to skin he only wore that and a nappy and was snuggled up with me.

Also loved
Milos, longies, felix cardigan, Kimono wrap cardi, Kimono jersey, Edens adams and eves. Any of the rascals would be cool, and once it is released the Greyson is a nice jersey. ooooo not to meantion a freshed picked hat cause they look cute, and some wee booties and mits. There are links to the ones I did on my Rav project page (Claude30)

Are they not going to find out? Cause there are many lovely girly baby knits too

I also love a knitted or crochet blanket as a keepsake for all my kids, which can be done gender nutral.
