button holes and stretchy fabric?

Post by Resse » Wed Jan 30, 2013 2:07 pm

How do I sew a buttonhole onto stretchy fabric? (like ribbing?)

I have an awesome pattern from Ottobre for trackpants, with a ribbed waist, and a cord coming out. But I am so scared to sew a button hole in that very stretchy fabric!
Any tips?

Stick interfacing to the wrong side of the fabric. Not sure how thick your interfacing needs to be though. Would definately pay to do a test run on spare fabric first.
