*screams* help me with merino please!

Id love to turn some merino I have here into a sleeping bag, and some leggings for the kids. But I so cannot sew it. What am I doing wrong?
It wont overlock... the stitch goes off the edge...(what tension should it be on on a brother?)
if i cut it it just rolls straight up into a tube

It does tend to roll up easily so lots of pins (I don't have an overlocker though) and going slowly so I can keep it flat helps.

If you have any spray starch that can help with the rolling for a while - spray starch on and iron to set it flat.
When you say it goes off the edge what do you mean - does the stitching pull off after you have sewed or can you not get it to run straight through so the fabric veers off before being caught and stitched?

yep the supermarket should have it.

If the fabric is veering off before you can get it under the presser foot properly then you could try -
- cutting a larger seam allowance so more fabric is being caught under the foot (does mean more wastage though).
- if your presser foot is adjustable try tweaking this a bit - it may need to be tightened up a bit to provide more pressure.
- guide the fabric in much closer so you are only releasing it as it tucks in under the foot.

First off id rethread your machine. And also receck your tension. I know mine will sometimes go all crazy and i just have to rethread it and its fine

Sounds like more of a problem with your machine than anything. Does your machine sew cotton knit ok?
I'd agree with rethreading it and having a good play with the tensions using scraps.

give your merino a good steam with any iron to stop it rolling.
