Appliqué help please

Post by grizle » Fri Oct 19, 2012 6:10 pm

Ive just put a dinosaur onto a tee for DS, I did a straight stitch around the outside edge and assume its going to fray as it goes, is one line of stitching enough? As it's kind of largeish, do I need to stitch some of the middle details so it doesn't unstick over time? It's got double sided iron interfacing behind it.

Will it not detach itself from the tee over time and sort of sag or something if it's not sewn through the middle?

So far the ones I have made havent and I put them through the dryer too. And Andre is now wearing some that I made for Keegan and they are still sitting strong.

Yeah your going to have to slurp your pic over here, its way too cool not to share with Tnners.

My MIL found a big piece of fabric at her local op shop, and it has these big dinos all over it, which happen to be perfect to cut out. Sorry about size of photo too.

It shouldn't sag in the middle if you use that sticky iron on stuff.

WOW that looks awesome!!! 8-)
I think it will be fine as it is. Whenever I have appliqued I have just gone around the edge with a close zig-zag and the inside has never sagged.
