Approx size for a dribble bib?

A friend has asked me to make her baby a few dribble bibs. Ive never made a triangluar dribble bib so I'm wanting to know approximately how wide and length from chin to bottom point to make it - I dont have a wee baby to test my patterns on now!

I cut a 12 inch square in half diagonally - not sure what measurement that gives from chin to point though...
