Has anyone made the Ottobre bubble skirt?

Post by Claire » Sat Mar 09, 2013 8:03 am

The uber cute one from 6/07?
I've had it cut out for over a year and if I don't make it soon it'll be too small. :(

The instructions are weird. Looks like the lining isn't joined and just has snaps at the waist to join it to the overskirt which is tres odd. Anyone made it??
Now missy has seen the cut out skirt she wants it made TODAY

 I had cut out a size 4 (pattern tracing, not fabric) for Emily - so it would have been 5 years ago  Thankfully I didn't cut the fabric, though the size 9 pattern pieces will be too large for the gorgeous printed needle pinwale cord I'd bought off AbbeHG to make it.

And yes, I recall the waist band being odd. I think I would have done it my own fixed way

Good luck & have fun!

I was reading pattern review and apparently it's in two pieces for ironing which makes sense. A bit of pain though.

That is assuming you ever want to iron it - I dont think I have ever ironed any of the bubble skirts that have passed through here.

na I will iron it. It's a 'special' skirt with really nice fabric so if I'm going to pay heaps to make it and spend lots of time on it I wanna make it look good.

I made it last weekend. DD has been waiting for a day cold enough to wear. She's finally decided that today is cold enough LOL

The pattern is dumb. I don't recommend it.
