Something for a crotchet lover?

Post by meow » Thu May 30, 2013 4:59 pm

My mums bday is in a few weeks (2) and I would like I sew something for her.
She is a crotchet master ;) would like any ideas from fellow brochettes/knitters as to what would be useful for her?

Thanks :) I am an advanced beginner/intermediate sewer if that helps.

I love my WIP bags - of different sizes depending on the size of the project/needles. I have a Japanese knot bag that I like for my smallest projects (http://showyourworkings.files.wordpress ... tions2.pdf), and a bigger bag about the size of my laptop for slightly bigger projects/larger balls of yarn (this bag DH bought in Japan when they visited the Tokyo tower - it's a great size & I often use it as a handbag  ).

Or a little zipped pencil case-like pouch for things like stitch holders, gauge tool, sewing up needles etc.

Emily uses a trial crayon roll for her crochet hooks, but it's on the slightly too short side of things (they stick out the top). So a bit deeper then a crayon roll (more suited to felt pens or pencils) would be a better size. Width of spaces would depend on her choice of hook, I have various widths depending on the gauge and handle type. An elasticated system would work well. (I just use a plastic container for my hooks so no real help from me).
