Snap press to borrow/hire/buy?

Post by emmarangi » Tue Mar 12, 2013 5:00 pm

Hi everyone. After trying (unsuccessfully) to pick up some good quality used size large honey child nappies for my boy to move into next, I am contemplating going the DIY route. I would like to try and cut a pattern off one of the honey child's I have as I like the fit on him (and don't see any issue with this as they are no longer in business).

I am hesitant to buy a snap press until I have trialled a few nappies, and would love to borrow or hire one from someone. I am in Auckland, however have family in Tauranga, so would be no problem if it was there.

I would also LOVE some feedback on how hard these wee lovelies are to make! I have reasonable sewing skills (used to make the odd dress as a teenager) and have my mums old overlocker. I can do this, right?
