SNAP Thread

Post by AbbeHG » Wed Aug 17, 2005 10:44 am

Question:
Do the sz 20 snaps 'hold' better/stronger than the sz 16 snaps?
ie are harder to pull apart ?
thanks

I've only tried the size 20, I thought the size 16 were just smaller, do you find that the size 20 comes apart easily? Does anyone know where to get any size 20 white for a KAM Press? Also can you purchase sockets seperately from studs, I always use lots of sockets!

Abbe - I've never compared the two. The nappies I've used both sizes on were for gifts, so I can't test it immediately. (Jacinta - your Real Nappy Week nappy has both sizes - have you noticed a difference in tug required for the rise adjustment v doing it up?)

Bowhunt - check out this thread http://www.thenappynetwork.org.nz/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=234. You can buy snaps from GreenBeans or from Serena in China. I am not aware of Sarah@GreenBeans selling sockets only.

I wondered because i've now started looking at anything that has snaps on it. One older nappy I have, has sz 16 snaps and they do pull undone a bit easily - hence my question.
I know I'll just have to test.
Leanne - what about the snaps on the pocket you gave Matty, I tried to look but its hard to tell just from the stud part.

I think Matty's pocket has size 20 - it's 2 different colours, right? If so, yip, will both be size 20.

The smaller snaps on the rise seem to be much firmer to open. The larger ones on the waistband wings are fine though - but the small def seem much firmer to pull apart in when you compare them.
