size 16 and 14 dies

Post by Mel » Fri Mar 16, 2007 4:30 pm

would these sizes be worth while getting? I know they arent a 'must have' item, but if you have them would you use them often or do they collect dust?

I don't have either, nor do I have the need to have either..

I guess newborn naps could have size 16 rather than 20... And if you were making heaps of duvets etc then you would want size 16 or 14..

Size 16 is very handy - I prefer it for baby/kids clothes, and most other household uses.

If you buy size 16, you can use that to apply size 14 snaps. There is no size 14 socket or stud dies, only a cap die, because size 14 snaps are size 16 socket/studs with a smaller cap. You can use the size 16 cap die with size 14 caps no worries. In fact, I think Im using a size 20 cap die to apply my size 16 snaps, and the odd size 14.

I have a 16 but haven't used it. Partly because I don't have any snaps in that size. I got it for dolls clothes.

What would put me off buying a different sized die is the expense of building up a second stash of snaps, in a different size.
