whats the big screw in the top of the snap press for??

Post by mbi15 » Sun Apr 08, 2007 11:27 am

Does anyone know what the big screw in the top on the snap press is for?? I have been using my snap press for ages now but never known what it is for, it might be meant to be used as a guide of how far to press the snaps.

Does anyone else know?? Just curious :D

It's to adjust the max pressure with which you can compress on your snaps, right? Like if you keep breaking snaps, adjust the screw so the handle can't go down as far.

Oooohhhh while you're asking questions about the press I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon and ask if anyone knows why the press comes with two of the little base bits that the cap sits in?

Mine didn't come with two but I only ordered the size 20 dies. Did you order both size 20 and 16? It might be a smaller size for the size 16 snaps.

I think this is because you get one base per male or female die set. I guess it works of the principle that someone might only buy the male or female side?

i think its for if you have two snap presses, so one can be for sockets and one for studs iykwim?

Probably only viable if you are in production/selling nappies

I've got the 2 base bits, I just assumed they were for two different sizes?
