Fabric for winter pjs

Post by grizle » Tue Jan 29, 2013 8:52 pm

DS has a habit of undoing or playing with the buttons on his flannel pjs, so I like him to be in a sweatshirt type tops (pull over head iykwim). Just wondering what fabrics would suit to make some pjs from? Was thinking it may need a bit of stretch and obviously needs to be warm, or can anyone recommend a pattern that would suit flannel.

G had one pair that have a placket neckline with a couple of buttons. They then have a knit rib band around the neck, sleeve cuffs and hem. I much prefer this! So much so that they are upstairs waiting for me to cut a pattern off.

My boys wear a skinny leg flannelette PJ with a pull over the head V neck top. Ankles on the pants and wrists and V neck are all stretch knit bands and I have in the past put 2 buttons front and back to button pants to the top.

I find the cotton/flannel breaths a lot better than knits for sweaty rashy boys
