Xmas City mission collection proposal

Post by channyhoo » Thu Sep 18, 2008 12:28 pm

Hey, I know this is early but I was thinking as I'm planning on having on having a cranking garden this year so it would be fab to donate some to the city mission a couple of days before Christmas. We donated a couple of turkeys we received as part payment for some gigs we did this year and they were over the moon. DH used to volunteer at the food bank and he would feel terrible as struggling solo mums were sent home with half rotten veg to fed their kids  .

I would be happy to collect stuff though if there was a lot of interest I would prefer a few collection points rather than a whole lot as its a rather hectic time!

Thought a bit of forward notice wouldn't go astray if people wanted to make things as well.

Come on, you know you want to....

I'd be happy to donate - we are going to have HUGE gardens very very soon ;) And I'm all for producing far more than we could possibly eat (great to allow for failures) and donating excess so will keep in touch with you about it 8-)

I'll keep that in mind, hopefully our vege patches will do better this year for Christmas.

Nothing of use in my garden yet, though the raspberries might be ready by then.
