mum and bubs

Postby fuzzibum » Tue Apr 03, 2007 9:01 pm

omg this is outrageous!!! just got an email saying that the nappy i recieved is the only one they make. ummm no its not, she has the one I wanted advertised on her website and in the dropdown bar for you to purchase. I checked on a UK site to make sure that was what it was called. I have emailed her and told her I want to send it back and have it exchanged. i've been politely told they "dont do returns". I notice that she has also gone in and edited the website and taken that nappy off now that i have pulled her up about it. The way she runs this business is disgusting!!!

 :smt017
This is directly from her site:
Mum & Bubs Return Policies

We've all found ourselves in a situation where we realise we've purchased the wrong item, the size, the colour or the style just isn't going to work for us. Mum & Bubs understand this and offer a 30 day right of return on all unused and unwashed items free from foreign smells, marks or objects (such as animal hair or dirt). Depending on your situation we will happily replace or give you a store credit for use either online or in our shop. Please note postage or pick up/drop off is your responsibility both to and from (in the case of an exchange) Mum & Bubs.

Our products are guaranteed against workmanship faults for 3 months from the date of purchase (excluding Peapods which are guaranteed for 30 days). This guarantee covers stitching, fabric and other faults present at manufacture which may hinder use of the product, it does not cover general wear and tear or misuse of the product. If you feel a product you have purchased is faulty please contact us before returning for an exchange or store credit. In most situations we will credit your bank account account for the cost of postage to us and we won't chage you for postage back. A copy of your e-mailed receipt must be included with all returns.

To ensure that we are able to return your goods please make sure you contact us first, this is when we will give you our return address details, and remember to always include your name, e-mail, postage details and a receipt when you return your package.

We do not accept responsibility for items missing in the post, we will assist in placing a claim with the postal carrier and if and when the claim is granted we will replace the missing goods or give you a voucher code for store credit.

That is totally disgusting. Is it a breach of the consumer guarantees act? If this is the way she conducts her business I don't imagine she will be around for long

hmm. Interesting that her website says they hold no responsibility for items lost in the post, yet that seems to be the problem most people are having............

As for an exchange, I'd print out her website policies and then ring them back and quote the website.

She is getting the nappy back!!! Yes i read the terms and conditions on her site and she said they do a 30 day right of return. "sometimes you may realise you have purchased the wrong thing???". what a crock!!! I know exactly what I brought she has sent me the wrong thing. The thing that really gets me, is all this "lost in the post business", she has advertised a product and give the customer the option to buy something she doesnt even have and just knowingly sent me something else which is fraud. She then outright lied to me telling me that the one she sent is the only nappy design made by this company when she has a pic of the one that supposedly doesnt exist on her site!!!. I have the email saved where she has just outright lied about it, and now she's telling me they dont do returns. Funny though, the email I got back was address to "kim" (I"m Kath - Kath and Kim lol), and it was signed off by an "Andy Thompson". everything else has been done by her. whether thats just a decoy who knows. I am so disgusted that she will just outright lie about things. How on earth can she tell a customer something doesnt even exist when it is advertised for sale on your own site??? She has now edited the site to take the option to buy it off but the pic is still there. I will try and find the TM link, she is not popular there either.

Another thing i find interesting too, my first order supposedly was lost in teh post and there was a delay while she claimed or something. If something goes missing, both the sender and the intended reciever have to fill in forms for NZ post. I never had to do anything yet I had paid an extra $7 for "insured post" coz she "highly recomennded it". yeah i wonder why she highly recomends it??? Ironicly it couldnt be traced lol.

I wont shop with her. I went into her store and she was SOOO rude. I asked about pockets (wanting to know the ins and outs) as all I have is fitted and she very rudely told me fitteds (well the ones I have) are useless etc.
I have never ever had a problem with my nappys but wanted to learn a bit more about pockets
My SIL went into her store with all 3 of her children looking at getting something for Maia and the woman at the store mumbled something about contraceptive (my nephews are 19months apart the youngest being twins!!!)

I thought initially what you thought Christine, but I think it was aimed at mum and bubs, not us
