I have to agree with Koastal!!! I have a few (and a couple more on the way thanks to koastal  ) and think they are great.

Dos that mean you are using MCN again Koastal?

It sure does. The petite fuzzi's sit alittle high at the back but I guess that's better than having him grow out of medium's too quickly and having alittle more height at the front is great for catching any leaks. I'm finally sorted with 18 petite fuzzi's and 42  contoured inserts. I know that's is HEAPS but at least they won't get worn out and I never have to worry about running out over winter when it rains constantly. I refuse to put nappies in the dryer as it tends to ruin them (they can just hang for days on my garage washing line when the sun doesn't want to shine).

I just love getting these inserts out of the washing machine and being able to see that every little piece of them is clean.

Maybe it's just me, but with the rash problems you've had, I can't believe you'd leave him in any nappy that long! (Sorry to be negative - I'm glad you're using MCN again :D )

I like the absorbancy of the contoured inserts, but I'm finding that after using them for a couple of months, the stitching is starting to come undone where the two sides join. Maybe my washing machine is being a bit rough, but I expected them to last a lot longer. It sucks when you have to repair an almost new insert :(

My washing machine must be chewing on them  When they come out they're all inside out and twisted.

Why? You've asked for lots of help here with rashes (for which frequent changes and nappy free time were recommended) and last I read you were selling off your stash due to the problems you were having (even Wisegirl seem commented on that), so it seemed like a valid comment to me. Your recommendation didn't state that you left it on by accident for that long, but read like that was what you did regularly.
