RNW '08 Christchurch

Post by Kaz » Tue Dec 18, 2007 4:32 pm

Firstly, Stacey get this heading up and move this! :smt016 :smt079

Secondly who is interested in helping? 21-28 April

Thirdly, grand plans in my head include:

Colouring competition (thanks Leanne) Maybe we could use the TNN Logo baby.

Nappicino Gala day:
Bouncy castle (for me to play on)
TNNers homemade craft stalls
Secondhand nappy stall
Nappy art/parade
Nappy info table (mini kit style)

I've decided the Nappy Expo idea is not something I wish to repeat. Will be happy to display product info from different nappy businesses and have a list of retailers available.

May be open to sponsorship for bouncy castle, afternoon tea, hall hire etc.

Need more time to think and helpers. Not planning on being pregnant next year, so hopefully I'll have it a bit more together

Oh, if anyone else would like to run this event I'm more than happy to let them :D

RNW is an international cloth nappy promotion week.

Find out more details here: www.wen.org.uk/rnw/

Also check out the RNW 2006 and 2007 threads to see what has been done in NZ.

Gosh, did I really come up with the colour competition idea? :? If I did, I'm clever as that is a great idea ;). I was thinking along the lines of something kiddy-made cloth-eco-poster-ish.

Not exactly colouring in - I was thinking more like having a picture for small people to colour/paint/collage and a theme thing/poster for older kids.

Would definitely like to reward participation rather than 'nice colouring'

Plus something for us grown-ups.

Maybe an allergy cooking competition, that I get to sample

Trying to run an event that TNNers can have fun as well as promote MCN.

Happy to help out with whatever goes ahead. Did you have a potential venue in mind for the gala day? I guess we need to set a venue and time very soon to take advantage of any free advertising?

Bouncy castle sounds outdoorsy to me? Can you have these inside? Just wondering whether we might be a bit optimistic organising something outdoors at that time, or maybe you were thinking of a big, tall venue? :P

Depending on the size of the bouncy castle you can have them inside. Last time we hired one for a church event it included a supervisor which was reaaly helpful - one less volunteer to find  . Can't remember where we got it from but I can find out....
I can probably help out - just need to talk it over with dh first (he worries about my tendency to over commit   )
