RNW Auckland Volunteers Please!!

Post by karmiec » Mon Feb 25, 2008 3:32 pm

Please can we have a few Aucklanders put their hands up!

We need people who can help at the Nappy Expo on 19th April for various Mum sized jobs.. for a couple of hours or the whole day (well 9-4 is the booking, 10-3 is open hours). Think about what you could do... meet and greet at the door, taking photos, clean up.

Is there something that you are passionate about that you want to see included in the expo... well put together a plan and let us know what it is.

Also can we have a list of people who can put up posters or flyers (and where) so we can co-ordinate our efforts. Will you talk to your plunket nurse or GP? Do you know of a good noticeboard in a community room??

Please help we have 6 weeks to make this FLY!

I'm in - for whatever needs doing. Can do pics, help out on the day etc.

Sorry I have been vacant - study is back on full time and seems to be sucking up every waking moment (and a few of the sleepign ones too!).

I would love to but unfortunately it's the same weekend as the V8's so I have no babysitter :(

Good luck though - gutted I won't be able to come :(

I should be able to help again this year, for a couple of hours at least.

I'd be happy to help for a few hours, misc jobs that need done, perhaps picking up a bit. LMK what specifics are when it gets a bit closer.

Oh goody...

So Nova's in to do a DIY demo or two (possibly some time at a DIY stall or on stage??)

Does anyone else have something that they would like to demonstrate?

I have an idea but I can't run with it because of new bubs being rather tiny then... anyway it was do do a demo of how MCN's can work in a childcare environment. Happy to help with some ideas etc but can't do it myself. The idea being we could then invite staff from childcare centres to have a nosey (and lots of them have kids or plan on it!)

DEMO?! *gulp* manning a display to answer questions sure, but i'm waaaay too chicken to do a proper demo!  (somehow people don't seem to realise that i'm stupidly shy...?? ;) )

we managed to get angie (zayarn) to do a couple of demos last year, so maybe some other extremely awesome sewing person could be sweet talked?

I'll have to check with DH that he can mind the kids that day (he's overseas at the moment so can't check for another couple of weeks).

But.....assuming I can then I don't mind showing people how to make their own nappies. Prefer if someone else can talk while I sew as it's hard to do both and I usually end up saying "just put that here and just do this and then it'll be like that"
