Great turnout at Timaru Event

Post by ceres » Sun Apr 20, 2008 8:15 pm

Well must say ladies we had a very eventful event in Timaru today. Had lots of people through and I enjoyed being able to spread the word.
Hopefully macca spots this and can post some pics I took on her camera.
Thanks Dunners for loaning the nappies in stages and the fantastic nappy book.

Well done. It looks great!

I'd like to know more about it, it looks like you have nappies for sale. Is there nappy makers around your way?

I'd love a little expo on the coast, but don't know how to go about it. Can't garantee enough sales to get anyone to actually come here. What did you do?

That's why we're having the sewacino and nappy mountain as well as info displays this year, for something different. i need ideas for next year now!!!

Well done ladies.

We had cheeky fantails who are local sellers - not manufacturers but sell ones like ecobubs, real nappies etc, and Ballantynes who sell naps naps and kidstuff who sell baby cheeks in their shop.
We (Ceres and I) did a DIY display. That was pretty much it. I'm sure you could do something similar

Just to expand on what Macca said..

The local council does not have the budget to run a subsidy scheme like other councils so the cheeky fantails ladies approached them to sponsor this event. They paid for the venue and printing of posters and flyers etc. They made up some $20 vouchers to give away as prizes. They were get $20 off a nappy from one of the 3 vendors there.

Also the Nap Naps lady was there too , which was great as she said the large areas eg chch, wellington, auck get all the big vendors, so she decided to support a more rural event.
Being over on the coast you could get some of the chch vendors to come over, they may feel the same.
