i'm happy to host meetings at my place, we're free most nights, means i don't have to scab a ride & gives me good motivation to keep the house tidy

thanks Ali for bumping that up - and I wondered why Nova you haven't posted on there??? So not sure if you didn't see that other thread or if you want to be involved in RNW planning only? I suppose we can keep it separate...

thought i'll keep RNW planning discussions on here, separate from the other events (on the other thread in committee discussion section)

23rd January 2007 meeting - attended by nova, kb, Karen, Janine and CC

Ideas at the moment all revolved around one major event over the weekend.

1. Venue: we agreed that central is best, so CC to find out details at Grey Lynn Community Centre. -UPDATE: Venue is confirmed to be at The Garden Room at Grey Lynn Community Centre

2. Date: we thought a Friday arvo and Sat am timing would be good, so we only have to set up and pack down once. So that would be 16th and 17th March - UPDATE: Date is confirmed to be Saturday 17th March 2007. Room is booked from 1015 - 1900hrs, public time TBA

3. Have different "areas"/booths to avoid overcrowding in one small area:
- Nappy booth - kb (to organise)
- Accessories (eg wipes, Little Squirt) and Personal Care/Mums (eg keeper, mamapads, breastpads) booth - Janine
- Hire Kit booth - Karen
- DIY area (including showing different stages of a nappy construction, fabric samples, etc) - Nova
- Knitting/Crocheting Circle - CC

4. Have multimedia playing throughout ie of TNN Inc presentation and Waste Dvd - multimedia equipment accessible by Janine's dh? CC to organise presentation

5. Scheduled "Cloth Nappy Know How" sessions? CC/Karen

6. Have a WAHMs expo area? Will WAHMs be interested in having an area where sample packs can be sold (or at least orders taken)?

7. Have a nappy change station set up - Janine to organise/delegate UPDATE: may need to comply with OSH requirements?

8. Refreshments - Tea/Coffee/Homebaking UPDATE: enquire about getting a caravan coffee business to park on site to provide this

9. Promotion of All City Councils' Schemes

10. Promotional Material/Advertising (kb to organise/delegate)
- Parents Centre
- Midwives, Doctor Surgeries, hospitals
- Kiwi Parent mag
- Littlies Mag
- Tots to Teens mag
- community papers (ie Western Leader, Central Leader, Eastern Leader, what's in Sth?)
- Radio - community notice boards
- Living Chanel, Triangle TV
- Community Centre
- Community Project Noticeboard

As you can see we will need lots of volunteers - many hands make light work :-) And the above are only for a two day event. We think the following people will likely be available/want to help in some capacity?
nznats, sphanges, razz, chuffed, Ali, AnnaS, Ansis, PukekoPossum, Casper, jeshiko.
Yes?
Anyone else like to put their hand up?

What about the rest of the week?
? A nappucino in a public area - eg a park/playground in central area, or localised, so one in each N, S, E, W suburbs?

? static displays in libraries/malls

? Newspaper/Mag article

? Spot prizes for the two day event at the community centre

I'm in to help in some capacity.
Obviously as another Hire Kit owner I can help Karen.

I'll have a little talk with the head librarian of the children's part of Taka library and see what/ideas for what we might be able to do there.

Hi, I don't have time to help organise anything, but I can certainly come on the day and help set up/man stations/get coffee or whatever is needed. Just let me know.
