Auckland Expo - Saturday 17th March 2007

Post by ClothConvert » Mon Mar 12, 2007 10:45 pm

It's this Saturday 17th March 2007 at Grey Lynn Community Centre, 510 Richmond Rd, Grey Lynn. Opens from 11am - 6pm. All welcomed! TNNers, even if you can't come, tell your friends and family to come and check the expo out.

* There will be a large selection of nappies displayed, come and talk to us about all that you want to know about Modern Cloth Nappies (MCNs).

* Come and learn more about how to make your own modern cloth nappies. There is also a "How to Make a Fitted Nappy" demonstration by our very own Designer Bums creator, Angie. (Scheduled for 1-2pm)

* Come and learn how to knit a wool soaker (cover) for your nappies. A knitting circle will be hosted by our very own Knittabots creator, Bronwyn. (Scheduled for 2-4pm) Got any curly knitting question? She's your girl!

* There is also opportunity to buy some MCNs to trial/add to your collection. Confirmed sellers with products for sale are:

Designer Bums
Fuzzi Bunz
Motherinstincts
NapNaps
Organic Island Baby (Disana Nappies)
Snazzipants

A coffee cart will be available so you can purchase a hot cuppa after all that nappy natter. There is also a playground at the centre for the kids.

Wow thanks for doing this, I had a fantastic time. So pleased with my fire Designerbums nappy that I won and all the tips I got off Angela.

2hours later I came away with a head full of knowledge, my bag a little heavier and my wallet alot lighter.

Looking forward to next years one - I may even be clued up enough to help out.

I thought it went really well, E and I had a lovely afternoon - I met lots of TNNers and E had a great time squealing and waving at everyone (she doesn't get out much  ) She got to choose her own wipe to take home, and of course being a baby of refined tastes she choose a bamboo velour one :cloud9:

Saw lots of pg ladies checking out the nappies, which was good :D

A big thanks to everyone who organized it! It was great and my friends who are expecting a baby in August really liked it too (but are a bit overwhelmed!)
