AGM questions

Post by Netty » Sun Mar 29, 2009 6:58 am

I want to do this right, so I hope by starting this thread I am

I haven't become a society member yet, but wish to follow the AGM proceedings.

Do I sign myself in as present?

Do I need to clarify myself as a non-member?

ummm I paid a membership fee back when it was first mentioned (about 3 years ago) was it supposed to be a yearly thing or can I still vote - if yearly just tell me I will pay again.

I don't know, but most groups it's a yearly thing. I think there is something about it in one of the membership threads in General Nappy Chat.

I think it is std that you need to be a paid member of an organisation to vote at meetings.

I'm pretty sure that as far as AGM's go

anybody is welcome to attend, BUT only "members" in this case paid ones are allowed to vote

ive been watching the AGM thread, but was also unsure if I should list myself as present

That's my understanding too.

A church meetings you list yourself as present and tick if you are a member. So if we don't get a reply soon I will just go with that (saying I am present and indicating that I am a non-member) as it seems most appropriate if I am following the thread this week. But this is my first on-line AGM so I'm not 100% on the protocol.

As this is everyone's first AGM forum style, I too would suggest just listing yourself as present and if not a member, just put non-member beside your present.

For those not received emails, please let me know and I will see if it delayed because of me being away (people who sent through to me will not have yet received a reply as I only returned home last night). I will email anyone tonight when I get back online.

Anyone can attend (inc. members of the public)

Society members are listed in the usergroup : http://thenappynetwork.org.nz/phpBB2/gr ... hp?g=12700
(thats everyone I have a membership form from, whether payment has been received yet or not)

If you have sent a form and are not listed in that usergroup, then email Mickeigh or myself

Mickeigh and I will be co-ordinating our info today ;)

Only society members may be nominated for positions and/or vote

Membership is yearly. If you paid $2 and signed the Incorporation papers - that is different to this. You need to send in a membership form and payment for this coming year.

If you cant pay right away SEND IN YOUR FORM ANYWAY. We are extending terms so members can vote in the AGM. You can pay later.
