Knitting pattern testers wanted

Post by capelbach » Fri Feb 19, 2010 4:24 pm

I’ve spent all afternoon working on my knitted wrap cardigan and it is now ready to go for testing in three sizes. These are 16cm chest (approx newborn to 3 months) 18cm chest (6 to 12 months) and 19cm chest 12 months plus. If you would be interested in testing any of them, let me know by replying to this thread or emailing me kellyjo_sweeney@yahoo.co.nz

The pattern is written for Forever Green Élan which is a 5ply yarn, but sold as a 4 ply. But obviously any suitable yarn which you fancy will do. I’ve given approx metres based on that yarn on the pattern.

My other patterns are being worked on too, and will follow soon…..

(Just to add, if you are interested, the pattern available on line, which you can find on Ravelry isn’t particularly good, and only has one size, so please let me know, and I can let you have a copy of the new revised pattern.)

I'd be tempted too if it was all in one.
I could do any size you needed (all would have a home to go to ;) - lots of babies around at the mo!)

It's not I'm afraid. I could perhaps re-write for you, but that won't be for a little while, so if any one is interested in testing as is in the meantime. Let me know.

I could test in the nb-3 month size if you would like. What is the required gauge?

30 st to 10cm (4”) over stocking stitch
38 rows to 10cm (4”)over stocking stitch

I used two 50g balls of the yarn, and had some left over for the newborn size, the Elan is 167m per 50g ball, so 334m for the two.

Yes total pregnant brain, meant to write them in cm, but put in inches, with cm next to it!

1 Pair of 3.25mm (US 3) knitting needles
1 3.25mm (US3) circular needle, (makes picking stitches up at neck edge easier)
