Yeah, I was going to say Alia's one doesn't look quite right to me. I'll check emmapeas out mamacas - thanks.

Yeah, I'd just done mine how I thought it should go (according to the instructions) and it looks like emmapea's one. Not sure how good it is though - very flappy. I'll try it on Tessa when she wakes up to see how it fits. It's pretty huge.

Pics. I'm not sure if the envelope neck opening is done right
(singlet is unblocked - and slightly wrinkly at the top of the back as I had to rip apart a never finished cardi I had knitted to have enough wool).

Mine is definitely different, think it's done wrong, but it still works.

I overlapped my front on top of the back and sewed the outside of the shaping to the side edge of the back. It looks like the envelope is on the back, almost the wrong way round. (does that make any sense) here is a pic of my wee man wearing it ETA: newborn size, perfect fit on my 9lb2oz newborn.

Hmmm ... definitely think the instructions should be a bit clearer there Margo (supporting photos/pictures are really useful too). Apart from the necklines, it's a very simple pattern and will be very warm and snug when worn.
The XL seems huge - and I used about 125-130gms of yarn (I don't have electronic scales). I'll put it on Tess when she wakes up and take some more pics.
Finished length 37cm (unblocked).

The L would fit S at a stretch if it was a few cm longer. He's about 105cm & 17.5kg

Re: Baby singlet testers needed - 4ply
Hmm I'm nearly there, just have to finish off the back now that I can finally get back to my needles after more than a week. reading the sewing instructions I take it to mean that the front overlaps teh back with the slanted edge along the 'sleeve' edge of the back and you just stitch down the sleeve/armhole edge bit. I don't know if that makes sense but will hopefully have pics of mine done by tomorrow or sunday at the latest.

Re: Baby singlet testers needed - 4ply
Alright I used 65g/229m and there is plenty of stretch room for my 9kg almost 9 month old (73cm). I think I may have ended up with an extra centimetre in length due to not realising I was done in the round
But it is a good length on his long body.
