Envelope tee shirt testers - 48cm-92cm tall wanted.

Post by Darny » Wed Apr 13, 2011 7:21 pm

Wanting several testers in each size between the heights of 48cm and 92cm to test an envelope tee shirt pattern - you can make short or long sleeved
Suitable for knit fabrics - tee shirting, merino with some stretch, cotton lycra etc

Testers need to be able to
* sew up garment and test sizing with a week of receiving the pattern
* sew a simple envelope tee with minimal instructions (just written, no pictures at this stage)
* provide clear feedback as to the sizing and fit (to snug, too loose, too tight over the head, too short, too long etc) - and an indication of the age, weight and height of the child tried on, plus ideal tee shirt length and arm length of your child - shoulder to finished long sleeve length over outside of bent arm.

To test the pattern you will need
*an overlocker or sewing machine which will sew a stretch stitch
*be able to open a PDF and print it

thanks!

Edited to add - there is no guarantee these will fit - as with my last patterns I'm still testing the sizings.

Please EMAIL me with your email address rather than PM so I can send the pattern directly. Pattern is still maybe day away from being ready to send depending how much I get done tonight.

Anywhere around the 56-64cm range and I think 92cm?
But if you want to give it a go in another size it's always good to have comparisons

Sorry share, just wanted to check, what is the equivalent biggest size? My kids are in size 3 and 4 but are both taller than 92cm ...

I would put the size as a large size 2 probably, the pants were quite large but the tee's measurements don't seem huge to me, I'll make one up as soon as I can get near the printer and give you an idea of the actual size.
Will be making larger ordinary tee's soon, just trying to get some tiny stuff done first.

I can do a 92 for you, but won't be able to get it sewn up until second week of the holidays.
Let me know if you would still like me to make a 92cm

How is the neck done? I'm a bit scared of envelop neck lines and usually edge them with FOE. Could possibly be pursuaded to try something around 66cm size - 5mths old but long in the body

ok iv just sewed up a NB and holding it up against another NB top i have (it says on the tag to fit -9lb or 4.1kg)

the sleaves- are the same lenth
- are abit (maybe 1cm when lyeing flat on top of) wider than my one, makeing the arm holes quiet big

body - is the same lenth (maybe another cm or 2 wouldnt hurt
- is much wider than my one (maybe 3cm when lyeing on top)
- makes the neck very wide, i would maybe trim a 1 or 2 cm of the center fold on the printed pattern

enverlope neck- easy to do, and sits nice (even with my dodgy binding  )

il try get a pic after the kids are in bed.

hope this helps
feel free to ask any questions and let me know if you want me to try another one with a cm or 2 taken out of the center

and il do a bigger size to fit miss 2 1/2 tomorrow

nah don't worry about taking any out of the middle, I've used 'easy fit' measurements, think I'll go back to the closer fit and try again - the easy fit would probably be good for chunky monkeys like A was (he had to wear 3 sizes too large to get enough room in the body)
