October - preparing for Christmas

*I need to sew outfits for the kids for Christmas day, I'm hoping to not be doing them in the late hours of Christmas eve like I have the last two years. I have some fabric with nativity scene on it and think I'm going to go the easy route and make shorts for the boys and a shirring dress for baby which they can all wear with the same coloured plain t-shirts - umming and ahhhing about appliquing that "tie" type effect on the boys shirts with the same nativity fabric but not sure

*Almost 2yrs ago I brought a printed fabric panel from spotlight with nativity characters, half way through last year I sewed up one sheep (they are stuffed 3d), would love to actually finish the set before Christmas this year

*Was meant to knit H a spider/octopus hand puppet (I've done them for gifts before but don't have any in our house) for his birthday but it didn't get done so now this is on the Christmas crafts list too

*Also got a partly done sock monkey that needs completing for H for Christmas

Already sewn baby a taggy ball, birdie rattle, and gabby ball for part of her Christmas presents

ETA: don't have a clue what gifts I will do for my parents or brothers family (including 7kids) but they will likely involve some sort of crafted gift

I need to make DS's duvet cover. I have the quilting cotton but need to find some cheap cotton flat sheets in the right colour... might be a bit of a misson!

I don't think I'll have time to do handmade for anyone else this year, retail work + xmas means I'll be working insane hours, like midnight closing

- make LARGE covered button magnets for Aunty Chris

- make seahorse necklace and phone charm for SIL DONE
- car caddy for nephew
- fairy skirt and leafy shrug for neice
- beanies x 2 for BIL's
- fairy skirt for BFF's daughter

everything in purple is done. I got to delete a few off my list too as my family have decided to only do pressies for the kids

I'm making a teepee for the boys, I have the fabric and FIL is going to find me some manuka for the poles.
I want to make pincushions for my Mum and older sister.
I need to sew together the dolls for my niece from the doll panel I bought, and prbably make them some clothes.
I might make a few decorations for the tree too.

I like the idea of adding something each year. They normally get a decoration each year too so that by the time they leave home they have some to do their own tree.

Will add to my list of what I have to do but am making the most of having time to do it, and to spend with the girls as next year I am back at work full time

I was just thinking about this today....and trying to nut out a bunch of things I could do for the neices and nephews and even my kids etc....I'm just not sure I have the time to fit it all in!
Nephews 5, 3 and 5mths - car caddy, I spy bag, bean bag game, crayon/pencil roll, art case thing, ?some wooden clacker/tambourine toys I saw at an asian store today (not homemade tho....) grabby ball..
Neice 11 - no idea. Maybe an art case thing...or a bag of some sort.
And that's about as far as I got.
Anyone got any cool ideas for teachers/kindy teachers this year?
