Get your sewing mojo back sewalong

Post by Darny » Tue Jan 11, 2011 8:03 pm

So some people have requested a sew along to get their sewing mojo back, if you'd like to join in I was thinking maybe one of these tutorials could work well? Please feel free to add your own ideas, and we can pick one or two to sew along with.

Quick and easy:

Tiny teddies
Scented sachets
Mouse pincushion
Big-eared fabric mice
Fabric watch-strap
poofy-fabric-flower
T-shirt Hat
Bootie Tutorial
Scrap fabric belt

More Time consuming:

Childs patchwork circle skirt
Hanging Fabric Storage Baskets
quick-trip-diaper-bag
carseat cooler
Ruffle hat
Fluted edge hat
Make a bag set sew along
Lunch Sack
Short apron
Double turtle pincushion
Fabric Buckets

Post your pics here viewtopic.php?f=28&t=81739 (but post your comments here so the pics thread stays just pictures :D )

I like the little teddies and the mousie pincushion - but I think I will have to start them tomorrow as they might have to be for friends in Geelong who have both just had their first babies, and the mule (my SIL) heads back on Sunday.
I have some little kiwi fabric fat 1/8's here that will just be perfect ;) Nothing like revving up the Aussies mates :D

me too, but I don't think I'm going to be able to do anything until after we've eventually moved, I have no motivation to do ANY crafting at the moment.

I would much rather be crafting than spending the holidays packing thats for sure.

I'm not even on holiday, I'm back at work, and in the evenings trying to get the house ready for mum to sell/rent out or whatever so no time even for packing.

I made the wee mousie this morning, and it was certainly trickier than I thought it was going to be!
I'm going to do 2, because I want to improve on the last one, and the kids are also asking to have one as well.

Oh I love the bootie pattern - Lachie has toddler sized feet but doesn't walk so doesn't need strong shoes (but all the shoes in his size are all chunky!) - I think I'll make him some groovy boots in cool patterns/colours.

Have added it to the list Plingie, will add any more anyone anyone wants to suggest to, and have created a gallery thread so we can post pics of our creations :D

Might do a couple of sew alongs at a time - maybe a quick easy one and a more difficult one at the same time so you can do either and it suits everyone?
