We need people to help teach newbies on the day, that's the whole point.

Teaching people a new skill and enabling them to use cloth on a budget is the aim.

Plus a chance to get together for those who don't want to sew.

I don't mind helping with this but umm unsure what to do, could someone fill me in on whats needed and Ill see what I can do

Venue and date to organise/book
Advertising
Helpers
Do we have enough helpers to have a sewing session?
Would we be better to have a nappicino instead?
Organise morning/afternoon tea


So much to do that I just can't get my head around it, only 2 weeks till RNW

2 weeks away?! That snuck up fast. I would love a sewing day but realistically I think a Nappiccino is probably more practical. How about holding it at a kid-friendly cafe? Somewhere like Addington Coffee Co-op. Easy to book a couple of tables - the cafe takes care of the food and drink (people pay for their own), all we really need to do then is advertise and show up. Could be expensive though if people have lots of kids, perhaps a community centre might be better?

I'd still like to help.
I like the idea of a combo sewing/nappicino info afternoon/day type thing. Use the library where the last sewing day was held? Colombo st one I forget its name, but near Leannes?
Could we hold it on the weekend? Of course it depends on venue availability. We have some info stuff such as the fabric hanging from the last time don't we? I will and can help do this.

Perhaps Leanne still has some diy sewing kits to sell? I could put together some more (as I'm sure other fabric hogs could as well ) I have a couple of sewing machines I could bring, snap press etc. Mostly we need to demonstarte stages and show how simple they are to make And then just lots of different types of nappies and some treats to eat. Tea and coffee etc. At least that libray is right next to the rooms we might use so families can hang whilst parents are visiting the nappy info.

Maybe we could have a sewing day after RNW, I'm a bit caught up with birthdays until the. We could have a farewell Bumbles bricks 'n' mortar + RNW nappicino. I'm sure Paula wouldn't mind if we pushed stuff aside to make more space.

South Library is the one we've used before - The Sydenham Room, it's free as long as it's a community event

I could also make a couple of batches of cupcakes. depending on where it is to be held. I have no car so will need to bus!
