one of the main goals would be to decide on venue quickly so we have a good amount of time to advertise, i know we missed deadlines for alot of the free advertising last time...............the weeks fly by
i think in spring western springs venue would be alot nicer than the other years, but i went to a baby market thing at mt albert and that was good too, what is the difference to hire out?

11th-17th October according Ummm which I think should be 11-18 to be a whole week.

Same price for western springs vs mt albert.

Shall I check availalbity of Mt Albert War Memorial for 17th or 18th?

What about sewing class/s ? Shall we look at venues now too? So we can taking bookings at the expo for classes? Who would be interested in doing sewing tutorials?

if i'm not mistaken, this side isn't very visible from the road.
but if we do a big enough sign maybe it's not an issue

Is Western Springs available? I'd say if we had a great turnout the first year then it would be fair to assume it was a combo of weather and advertising. The weather was the absolute pits! I wouldn't have gone out unless I absolutely needed to on that day.

So my vote is that if Western Springs is available, let's book it and get on with planning/advertising.

yes i agree, i also like the "feel" of western springs, the shape of the room lends itself to flow reasonably nicely

Sorry I've been a bit tied up with family stuff over the past couple of days. I've PMed ClothConvert to find out about how many people visit the Centre each week, but on thinking about it some more, the actual room they have there is quite small, and if we didn't organise it just right, we would create a frustrating bottle neck that meant people didn't get to the retailers.

The Rocket Park venue would be awesome, but with better signage (and better weather!) the venue from last year will be just as good, and the benefit is we all know it now.

I think if Western Springs is available we should go for it as there are heaps more important things to sort out than the venue. I'll get on to finding out whether retailers prefer the Saturday or the Sunday. Did we decide whether we're going for the weekend before or after yet?

I think the Auckland Sling Walk is on the 16th of October this year which will probably take most of our volunteers and retailers out of action

Oh, and on the sewing thing, I talked to Michelle (CC) recently, and the Cloth Nappy Education Centre has been promoting workshops with Michelle from EZPZ Baby and they are having trouble finding anyone to take them up. I think it's priced at $60 including a DIY kit for 6 nappies.
