Pattern for short sleeve singlet?

For some reason, I thought you were asking about sleeveless not short sleeved so didn't reply . . . I've done all my merino singlets using the kwiksew tshirt pattern (which you have atm ) - I did mine long sleeved, but I don't think short sleeved would be any different. I just use a scrap of merino for the neckband, stretched a bit.

I don't agree that sleeveless is easier - cos you've got finicky arm holes to do, instead of just a hem, but each to their own!I have yet to find a good way of doing sleeveless singlets that I like.

So is it the t-shirt pattern from the baby or toddler one?

And when sewing with merino - is it easy?
I am an absolute beginner when it comes to necklines!!

Theres a pattern that does short and long sleeve t-shirts. Its in both, but I think the baby one has an extra 'shoulder opening' which I didn't bother with. I'm also an absolute beginner with necklines (try Jo, she seems to know what she's doing!) but I didn't find the merino too hard to sew with - you've just gotta take it slow and make sure you don't over-stretch it. It would also differ depending on the weight of your merino - is it the stuff you got from me?

Is it short sleeved that you're after or sleeveless (like a tank top singlet?)
I wouldnt try and trace a t-shirt if you're after a sleeveless singlet .. the shoulder width will be wrong
If you do want sleeveless there is a free pattern on the ottobre website I think.

Sleeveless is easier! I have made Bella a couple. There is a free ottobre pattern for one....
