I made one for Sids first bithday- no where near as flash as those links though.
It was so much fun.
I did cotton pages and sewed two together with some batting inbetween as i wanted it to be a bit puffy.

Those are such a great idea.

Would love to make one for Miss Finny but there is just so many things on my to do list and not enough hours. :(

Maybe I could work on one slowly .. one page at a time over a few years and have it here at our house as a grandkids book :D

i've been looking at these as well but the links, especially the first one are amazing,
with the binding I'm wondering if you could adapt some actual bookbinding techniques to hold it together, will have to dig out my handmade books book and see.
would love to join in though

I just found this
I'm in. I may make 2 to cut down on bickering
I was planning to use good quality cotton sheets for the pages but i just thought about it a bit and I have a couple of boxes of old cloth flats that would work really well. They are the old smooth ones, really sturdy, that I used for DS1. Is that too gross? :hide: I have heavy interfacing I could use between pages - not iron on though.
I'm trying to source book rings here but I can always get some in Nelson weekend after next (want me to get you some too Megan?)
Does anyone know the best way to stick 2 pieces of felt together? I need to glue one bit on top of another for a bit of this :?
I wish I had a grommet/eyelet thing :twitch:

Are you going to Nelson? I could give you a list!

I have the fabric for my pages now, some heavy cotton drill in a lovely blue. Now I just need some time to get the sewing machine out!

Hands (ashford) in Christchurch sells book rings for 50cents each and grommet tools from $8-$22. Hands are online, so guessing you could do an online/mailorder, HTH :D
