Tunic pattern

Tunic pattern

Postby krisha » Sat Jan 08, 2011 10:40 pm

Anyone seen anything like this pattern that is a free one? (A newbie sewer friend is aiming high but doesn't want to fork out for patterns at this early stage - shes made a couple of the bella dress/top for her kids so far). Anything remotely similar would be great :)

Thanks!

I was browsing kokka fabrics yesterday and happened upon that same blog. Pretty cute tunic/dress/what have you! But I'd steer her away from something so tailored unless she buys the pattern and knows how to adjust it.
eta: I've never seen a free pattern of that complexity, nor styling, freebies are more likely to be a boxy style tunic that she could draft herself off something she already has.

Thanks Hannah, I will steer her away, I had told her that it wouldn't be an easy feat (she has only been sewing since yesterday  but loving googling patterns!)

Yep, I copied and pasted all the links from the girls pattern thread Claire started.. she went goo goo over them all ;) Love getting someone else into sewing! Shes not overly convinced on attempting a mcn though, both her girls are in them, I told her she hasn't found the love of minky yet! :whip:

get her to buy a pattern! better to get a pattern that you really like and do a mock in using a cheap fabric (like an old sheet or something) to practise the techniques.
